AN ACT AUTHORIZING THE DEPUTY SHERIFF OR OFFICER ON DUTY AS DESK SERGEANT IN CONCORD TO ISSUE WARRANTS RETURNABLE BEFORE JUSTICES OF THE PEACE OR ANY INFERIOR COURT IN SAID COUNTY.

 

The General Assembly of North Carolina do enact:

 

Section 1. That any Deputy Sheriff of Cabarrus County while acting as desk sergeant in the sheriff's office in Concord shall have full authority to take the affidavits of complainants and to issue warrants for the arrest of all persons charged with the commission of criminal offenses. Such warrants shall be made returnable before some justice of the peace of the county or before any inferior court in Cabarrus County. Such warrants shall be served by some peace officer or deputy sheriff other than the officer issuing the same.

Sec. 2. All laws and clauses of laws in conflict with the provisions of this Act are hereby repealed.

Sec. 3. This Act shall be in full force and effect from and after its ratification.
