HOUSE BILL 331

 

 

AN ACT TO EXTEND THE JURISDICTION OF POLICE OFFICERS TO ONE MILE BEYOND THE CITY LIMITS OF THE TOWN OF COLUMBIA.

 

The General Assembly of North Carolina do enact:

 

Section 1. Policemen of the Town of Columbia in Tyrrell County are hereby authorized to make arrests in the area outside of, but within one mile of, the Town of Columbia corporate limits for offenses committed within the said area, in the same manner, to the same extent, and with the same authority as if the said offense were committed within the corporate limits of the Town of Columbia.

Sec. 2. All laws and clauses of laws in conflict with the provisions of this Act are hereby repealed.

Sec. 3. This Act shall be in full force and effect from and after its ratification.
