AN ACT TO PREVENT THE TAKING OF DEER ON TURKEY CREEK, MORGAN CREEK, AND LONG CREEK WITH THE AID OF BOATS.

 

The General Assembly of North Carolina do enact:

 

Section 1. It shall be unlawful for any person or persons to take or kill any deer in or within one hundred (100) yards of Turkey Creek, Morgan Creek, or Long Creek, which lie between N. C. 210 Highway and the northeast Cape Fear River, in Pender County, with the aid of any boat or other floating device; provided this Act will not prohibit the transportation of hunters or their legally taken game up or down Turkey Creek, Morgan Creek, or Long Creek.

Sec. 2. Any person violating the provisions of this Act shall be guilty of a misdemeanor and upon conviction thereof shall be fined not less than fifty dollars ($50.00) and not more than one hundred dollars ($100.00) or imprisoned for not less than thirty (30) days nor more than sixty (60) days.

Sec. 3. The North Carolina Wildlife Resources Commission shall have jurisdiction to enforce the provisions of this Act.

Sec. 4. All laws and clauses of laws in conflict with this Act are hereby repealed.

Sec. 5. This Act shall be in full force and effect from and after its ratification.
