HOUSE BILL 493

 

 

AN ACT TO REACTIVATE THE MUNICIPAL GOVERNMENT OF THE TOWN OF BOLIVIA IN BRUNSWICK COUNTY.

 

The General Assembly of North Carolina do enact:

 

Section 1. J. M. King is hereby appointed Mayor of the Town of Bolivia and Douglas H. Hawes, R. C. Phelph, R. K. McKeithan and Paul Hufham are appointed aldermen of said town. The said officers shall hold their respective offices until their successors are elected and qualified.

Sec. 2. On the first Monday in May 1963, and biennially thereafter, there shall be held in the Town of Bolivia a municipal election at which time there shall be elected a mayor and four aldermen who shall take office on the first Tuesday in May next succeeding their election and shall hold office for two years and until their successors are elected and qualified. The said elections shall be held and conducted under the provisions of Article 3 of Chapter 160 of the General Statutes of North Carolina.

Sec. 3. The powers and authority prescribed by Chapter 160 of the General Statutes are hereby made applicable to the Town of Bolivia.

Sec. 4. All laws and clauses of laws in conflict with this Act are hereby repealed.

Sec. 5. This Act shall be in full force and effect from and after its ratification.
