HOUSE BILL 540

AN ACT TO AUTHORIZE THE SHERIFF OF NORTHAMPTON COUNTY TO APPOINT AN ADDITIONAL FULL-TIME SALARIED DEPUTY SHERIFF.

The General Assembly of North Carolina do enact:

Section 1. In addition to the two full-time salaried deputy sheriffs whom the Sheriff of Northampton County is now authorized by law to appoint, said sheriff is hereby further authorized to appoint, subject to the approval of the Board of County Commissioners of Northampton County, a third full-time salaried deputy sheriff whose compensation and mileage and expense allowance shall be the same as that of each of the other full-time salaried deputy sheriffs now provided for by law in Northampton County.

Sec. 2. All laws and clauses of laws in conflict with this Act are hereby repealed.

Sec. 3. This Act shall become effective July 1, 1961.
