AN ACT TO AMEND CHAPTER 699 AND CHAPTER 727 OF THE SESSION LAWS OF 1959 SO AS TO CHANGE THE DATE OF MUNICIPAL ELECTIONS IN THE TOWNS OF BAYSHORE PARK AND CAPE CARTERET IN CARTERET COUNTY.

 

The General Assembly of North Carolina do enact:

 

Section 1. Section 11 of Chapter 699 of the Session Laws of 1959 is hereby amended by striking out the words "on Tuesday following the first Monday in May in the year 1961 and biennially thereafter" and substituting in lieu thereof the following words:

"on July 18 in the year 1961. In the year 1963 the regular municipal election shall be held on Tuesday following the first Monday in May and biennially thereafter."

Sec. 2. Section 11 of Chapter 727 of the Session Laws of 1959 is hereby amended by striking out the words "on Tuesday following the first Monday in May in the year 1961 and biennially thereafter" and substituting in lieu thereof the following words:

"on July 18 in the year 1961. In the year 1963 the regular municipal election shall be held on Tuesday following the first Monday in May and biennially thereafter."

Sec. 3. All laws and clauses of laws in conflict with this Act are hereby repealed.

Sec. 4. This Act shall be in full force and effect from and after its ratification.
