HOUSE BILL 549

 

 

AN ACT RELATING TO THE ELECTION AND TERMS OF OFFICE OF THE COMMISSIONERS OF THE TOWN OF ANGIER IN HARNETT COUNTY.

 

The General Assembly of North Carolina do enact:

 

Section 1. At the election for officers of the Town of Angier in May, 1961, there shall be elected four town commissioners. At said election the two candidates receiving the highest number of votes shall be elected for terms of four years each and shall serve until their successors are elected and qualified. The two candidates receiving the next highest number of votes shall serve for terms of two years each and until their successors are elected and qualified. Thereafter, at subsequent elections in said town as the terms of office of the members of the Board of Commissioners expire, their successors shall be elected for terms of four years each and until their successors are elected and qualified.

Sec. 2. All laws and clauses of laws in conflict with this Act are hereby repealed.

Sec. 3. This Act shall be in full force and effect from and after its ratification.
