AN ACT AUTHORIZING THE TOWN OF SCOTLAND NECK TO RENDER MAINTENANCE SERVICES ON CEMETERY DRIVEWAYS WHICH ARE OWNED BY LOCAL CHURCHES.

 

The General Assembly of North Carolina do enact:

 

Section 1. The Town of Scotland Neck is hereby authorized to use municipally-owned equipment and employees of the town to assist in repairing and maintaining driveways within cemeteries, either within or outside the corporate limits, which are owned and operated by churches which are located within the corporate limits of the Town of Scotland Neck.

Sec. 2. Maintenance services rendered by virtue of the authority granted under Section 1 of this Act shall be rendered at such time and in such manner as the governing board or other authorized official of the Town of Scotland Neck may in its discretion determine. Provided, however, that no material shall be furnished by the Town of Scotland Neck in the performance of such maintenance services as authorized herein.

Sec. 3. This Act shall apply only to the Town of Scotland Neck in Halifax County.

Sec. 4. All laws and clauses of laws in conflict with this Act are hereby repealed.

Sec. 5. This Act shall be in full force and effect from and after its ratification.
