AN ACT TO REPEAL CHAPTER 493 OF THE SESSION LAWS OF 1953 RELATING TO THE TERMS OF OFFICE OF MEMBERS OF THE BOARD OF EDUCATION OF WASHINGTON COUNTY.

 

The General Assembly of North Carolina do enact:

 

Section 1. Chapter 493 of the Session Laws of 1953 is repealed.

Sec. 2. The terms of office of all the members of the Board of Education of Washington County now serving in such capacity shall expire on the first Monday in April 1961. It is the intent and purpose of this Act to fix the terms of office of the members of the Washington County Board of Education for terms of two years each; the names and terms of office of members of said board will be placed in the Omnibus Board of Education Act to be enacted at this session of the General Assembly.

Sec. 3. All laws and clauses of laws in conflict with this Act are hereby repealed.

Sec. 4. This Act shall be in full force and effect from and after its ratification.
