AN ACT TO AMEND CHAPTER 1209, SESSION LAWS OF 1955 PROVIDING THAT PERSONS CHARGED WITH CERTAIN MOTOR VEHICLE VIOLATIONS IN FRANKLIN COUNTY MAY WAIVE APPEARANCE AND TENDER PLEA OF GUILTY, BY NAMING THE CHIEF OF POLICE AS AN OFFICER AUTHORIZED TO ACCEPT WAIVER.

 

The General Assembly of North Carolina do enact:

 

Section 1. Chapter 1209, Session Laws of 1955, is amended by adding, following the words and punctuation "Franklin County," in line 5, the words and punctuation "or the Chief of Police of the City of Louisburg,"; by adding, following the word "assistant" in line 6, the words "or the said chief of police"; by adding, following the word and punctuation "assistant," in line 12, the word and punctuation "or the Chief of Police of the City of Louisburg,"; and by adding, following the words "Franklin County" in line 2, Section 5, the words "and Chief of Police of the City of Louisburg"; and by adding, following the word "assistant" in line 1, Section 6, the words "and the Chief of Police of the City of Louisburg".

Sec. 2. All laws and clauses of laws in conflict with this Act are hereby repealed.

Sec. 3. This Act shall be in full force and effect from and after its ratification.

In the General Assembly read three times and ratified, this the 16th day of June, 1961.
