AN ACT TO PROHIBIT THE TRANSPORTATION OF UNLAWFUL FISHING DEVICES UPON COMMERCIAL FISHING BOATS IN THE COMMERCIAL FISHING WATERS OF NORTH CAROLINA.

 

The General Assembly of North Carolina do enact:

 

Section 1.  Chapter 113 of the General Statutes of North Carolina is amended by adding a new Section immediately following Section 210.1 to be designated as Section 210.2, and to read as follows:

"G.S. 113-210.2.  It shall be unlawful for any person, firm or corporation to knowingly transport aboard any commercial fishing vessel licensed in this State, and which is employed or has been employed in commercial fishing within the waters of North Carolina, any dredge weighing more than one hundred (100) pounds, or any commercial fishing equipment, the use of which is prohibited by law in the waters in which such vessel is, or has been employed in commercial fishing operations. Violation of this Act shall constitute a misdemeanor, punishable in the discretion of the court."

Sec. 2.  All laws and clauses of laws in conflict with this Act are hereby repealed.

Sec. 3.  This Act shall be in full force and effect on and after July 26, 1963.
