AN ACT TO AMEND SECTION 118-7 OF THE GENERAL STATUTES OF NORTH CAROLINA RELATING TO THE DISBURSEMENT OF FIREMEN'S RELIEF FUND IN THE CITY OF SALISBURY.

 

The General Assembly of North Carolina do enact:

 

Section 1. Section 118-7, as the same appears in Replacement Volume 3B of the General Statutes, is hereby amended by adding the following proviso at the end thereof which shall read as follows:

"Provided, that the board of trustees appointed under G. S. 118-6 may pay not exceeding five dollars ($5.00) per day to each fireman who is absent from work on account of sickness or injury, regardless of whether such sickness or injury arises out of and in the course of his employment. The said board of trustees by resolution, and in its discretion, shall determine the exact amount to be paid for such absences from work and shall establish the terms and conditions upon which such payments shall be made."

Sec. 2. That this Act shall apply to the City of Salisbury only.

Sec. 3. All laws or clauses of laws in conflict with this Act are hereby repealed to the extent of such conflict.

Sec. 4. That this Act shall be in full force and effect from and after its ratification.
