AN ACT TO FIX THE SALARIES OF THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS OF THE TOWN OF MOUNT AIRY.

 

The General Assembly of North Carolina do enact:

 

Section 1. Section 21 of Chapter 160 of the Private Laws of 1925, as amended by Chapter 27 of the Private Laws of 1927, is hereby rewritten to read as follows:

"The Board of Commissioners of the Town of Mount Airy is hereby authorized to fix the salary of the Mayor of the Town of Mount Airy at a sum not to exceed one thousand dollars ($1,000.00) per annum and also fix the salaries of the Commissioners. The Board of Commissioners shall, at its first meeting after election, fix the salaries of the Mayor and all Commissioners and in no case shall any Commissioner receive more than six hundred dollars ($600.00) per annum. No salary, herein provided for, shall be increased during the term of such Mayor or Commissioners, after the same has been fixed as provided herein."

Sec. 2. All laws and clauses of laws in conflict with this Act are hereby repealed.

Sec. 3. This Act shall be in full force and effect from and after its ratification.
