AN ACT TO APPROPRIATE THE SUM OF ONE HUNDRED TWENTY-FIVE THOUSAND DOLLARS ($125,000.00) FOR THE CONSTRUCTION OF A COMBINATION AUDITORIUM, CLASSROOM AND PHYSICAL EDUCATION TEACHING BUILDING AT WILMINGTON COLLEGE.
WHEREAS, the 1957 General Assembly appropriated from the general fund revenues of the State certain funds for the use of Wilmington College for capital improvements; and
WHEREAS, there remains for use by Wilmington College the sum of two hundred thirty-two thousand seventy-five dollars and twenty cents ($232,075.20); and
WHEREAS, a combination auditorium, classroom and physical education teaching building is very necessary for the proper functioning of Wilmington College as an education facility of the State of North Carolina; and
WHEREAS, the plans for such a building have already been prepared, the construction of which will cost approximately four hundred fifty-seven thousand dollars ($457,000.00); and
WHEREAS, Wilmington College has on hand in its Building Fund the sum of one hundred thousand dollars ($100,000.00), which was raised locally; and
WHEREAS, it is necessary that the State appropriate an additional sum of one hundred twenty-five thousand dollars ($125,000.00) so that this needed facility can be constructed: Now, therefore,
The General Assembly of North Carolina do enact:
Section 1. There is hereby appropriated from the general fund for the use of Wilmington College the sum of one hundred twenty-five thousand dollars ($125,000.00) to be used by said college, together with other available funds, for the construction of a combination auditorium, classroom and physical education teaching building at said college.
Sec. 2. All laws and clauses of laws in conflict with this Act are hereby repealed.
Sec. 3. This Act shall be effective from and after the date of its ratification.
