AN ACT TO AUTHORIZE THE BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS OF HALIFAX COUNTY TO RE-ESTABLISH AND DEFINITELY FIX THE TOWNSHIP LINES AND BOUNDARIES OF THE TOWNSHIPS IN SAID COUNTY.

 

The General Assembly of North Carolina do enact:

 

Section 1. The Board of County Commissioners of Halifax County is hereby authorized and empowered, in its discretion, to re-establish and definitely fix the township lines and boundaries of the various townships in Halifax County. For this purpose the Board of County Commissioners of Halifax County is authorized and empowered to employ and engage the services of all necessary surveyors, engineers, or any other type of employee or employees necessary to fix, determine and re-establish the lines and boundaries of the various townships in Halifax County and to make a proper map of same with a sufficient and proper description of the boundaries of each township in said County and to file said map in the office of the Board of County Commissioners of Halifax County and also in the office of the Register of Deeds of said County.

Sec. 2. The Board of County Commissioners of Halifax County is hereby authorized and empowered to pay the necessary expenses for the fixing and establishing of said township boundary lines and said expenses shall be paid from the general fund of the County, surplus funds, or other funds of the County which are not a part of the general fund and which are available for said purpose.

Sec. 3. All laws and clauses of laws in conflict with the provisions of this Act are hereby repealed.

Sec. 4. This Act shall be in full force and effect from and after its ratification.
