HOUSE BILL 1416

 

 

AN ACT TO PERMIT THE TOWN OF TAYLORSVILLE AND ALEXANDER COUNTY TO PURCHASE A WATER SYSTEM.

 

The General Assembly of North Carolina do enact:

 

Section 1. The Board of Commissioners of the Town of Taylorsville in Alexander County and the County Board of Commissioners are hereby authorized and empowered to purchase the water system from the Alexander Water Corporation, either jointly or severally, and upon such terms and conditions as the Board of Commissioners and the Alexander County Board of Commissioners may deem proper for the best interest of the said town and Alexander County, for the purpose of assuring adequate water supply for the benefit of citizens of Taylorsville and Alexander County. If the said system is purchased jointly, the town and the county shall have full authority to contract with each other with regard to the purchase, operation, and maintenance of the water system.

Sec. 2. All laws and clauses of laws in conflict with this Act are hereby repealed.

Sec. 3. This Act shall be in full force and effect from and after its ratification.
