AN ACT TO AMEND THE CHARTER OF THE TOWN OF LINCOLNTON, AS CONTAINED IN CHAPTER 89, PUBLIC-LOCAL LAWS OF 1941, RELATING TO TOWN POLICEMEN.

 

The General Assembly of North Carolina do enact:

 

Section 1. Chapter 89 of the Public-Local Laws of 1941 is hereby amended by adding the following paragraph to subdivision (a) of Section 1 thereof:

"The Board of Aldermen of the Town of Lincolnton shall have the right to employ policemen for the Town of Lincolnton other than residents and qualified voters of the Town of Lincolnton."

Sec. 2. All laws and clauses of laws in conflict with this Act are hereby repealed.

Sec. 3. This Act shall be in force from and after its ratification.
