AN ACT TO FIX THE COMPENSATION OF THE MEMBERS OF THE BOARD OF EDUCATION OF WILKES COUNTY.

 

The General Assembly of North Carolina do enact:

 

Section 1. The Board of Education of Wilkes County is hereby authorized, in its discretion, to fix the salary of the chairman of the board in an amount not to exceed seventy-five dollars ($75.00) per month, and to pay the chairman a travel and expense allowance not to exceed fifty dollars ($50.00) per month for necessary travel and expenses incurred in the performance of his official duties in Wilkes County. The Board of Education of Wilkes County may, and is hereby authorized, in its discretion and in addition to the above compensation, reimburse the chairman of the board of education for necessary travel and expenses incurred in the performance of his official duties outside the county.

Sec. 2. The Board of Education of Wilkes County is hereby authorized, in its discretion, to fix the salary of the members of the board of education in an amount not to exceed seventy-five dollars ($75.00) per month for each member, and to reimburse each member for the necessary travel and expenses incurred in the performance of official duties outside Wilkes County.

Sec. 3. All laws and clauses of laws in conflict with the provisions of this Act are hereby repealed.

Sec. 4. This Act shall be in full force and effect from and after its ratification.
