AN ACT TO AMEND CHAPTER 755, PUBLIC-LOCAL LAWS OF 1915, AS AMENDED, AND CHAPTER 557, PUBLIC-LOCAL LAWS OF 1939, AS AMENDED, RELATING TO THE PROSECUTING ATTORNEY OF THE WAKE FOREST RECORDER'S COURT.

 

The General Assembly of North Carolina do enact:

 

Section 1. Chapter 755, Public-Local Laws of 1915 and Chapter 557, Public-Local Laws of 1939 are hereby amended by adding a new Section to Chapter 557, under Chapter C, relating to elections, following Section 5, to be designated and to read as follows:

"Sec. 6. Notwithstanding any other provisions of law, in the event a prosecuting attorney be not elected as provided above, and as provided elsewhere in the laws relating to the Wake Forest Recorder's Court, the Board of Commissioners of the Town of Wake Forest are authorized and directed to appoint a prosecuting attorney who shall be a duly licensed attorney at law, and who shall be a resident of Wake County, North Carolina."

Sec. 2. All laws and clauses of laws in conflict with this Act are hereby repealed.

Sec. 3. This Act shall become effective upon its ratification.
