AN ACT TO ENLARGE THE MEMBERSHIP OF THE COUNTY BOARD OF EDUCATION OF TYRRELL COUNTY FROM THREE MEMBERS TO FIVE MEMBERS.

 

The General Assembly of North Carolina do enact:

 

Section 1.  There is hereby added to the County Board of Education of Tyrrell County two new members so that the membership of the County Board of Education of Tyrrell County is hereby increased from three members to five members.

Sec. 2. The two new members added to the membership of the County Board of Education of Tyrell County shall be elected in the year 1970, for terms of four years each, and the said election of these two members shall be according to the machinery and procedure provided by Chapter 972 of the Session Laws of 1967, relating to a uniform system for the election of members of county boards of education and shall be elected on a partisan basis in the same manner as members of the General Assembly. The two new members so elected for terms of four years each shall qualify by taking the oath of office on or before the first Monday in December next succeeding their election.

Sec. 3. All laws and clauses of laws in conflict with the provisions of this Act are hereby repealed.

Sec. 4. This Act shall be in full force and effect from and after its ratification.
