AN ACT TO PROVIDE LEGISLATIVE SALARY INCREASES FOR STATE POSITIONS FOR WHICH THE SALARIES HAVE HERETOFORE BEEN SET BY THE GOVERNOR AND ADVISORY BUDGET COMMISSION.

 

The General Assembly of North Carolina enacts:

 

Section 1.  Those State positions for which salaries have heretofore been set by the Governor and Advisory Budget Commission, excepting the Presidents and Chancellors and members of the staffs of Institutions of Higher Learning, and the Director and Assistant Director of the Board of Higher Education, shall receive a Legislative salary increase not in excess of five per cent (5%) for the first year of the 1971-1973 Biennium, an amount not to exceed five per cent (5%) Legislative salary increase for the second year of the 1971-1973 Biennium, to the same extent as provided for other State employees. Provided, however, salary increases shall be subject to the approval of the Advisory Budget Commission within the amounts specified herein.

Sec. 2.  This act shall become effective July 1, 1971.
