HOUSE BILL 540

 

AN ACT TO AUTHORIZE THE APPROPRIATION OF NONTAX REVENUES BY THE CITY OF WASHINGTON TO THE WASHINGTON BICENTENNIAL COMMISSION FOR NECESSARY EXPENSES.

 

The General Assembly of North Carolina do enact:

 

Section 1.  In order to meet the necessary expenses of the Washington Bicentennial Commission, established by ordinance of the City of Washington, in carrying out official duties, in compensating any necessary personnel, and in meeting other necessary expenses, such expenses are hereby declared to be for public purposes, for which the City of Washington in Beaufort County may appropriate nontax revenues and the Commission may also receive gifts and grants for said purposes.  The Commission shall file with the City Council of the City of Washington a quarterly report of expenses and activities.

Sec. 2.  This act shall become effective upon its ratification.
