SENATE BILL 707

 

AN ACT TO PROHIBIT FOX HUNTING WITH DOGS IN THE SOUTHERN PORTION OF FEDERAL POINT TOWNSHIP, NEW HANOVER COUNTY.

 

The General Assembly of North Carolina do enact:

 

Section 1.  It shall be unlawful for any person to hunt foxes with dogs in that portion of Federal Point Township, New Hanover County, which lies south of Snow's Cut, otherwise known as the Intercoastal Waterway.

Sec. 2.  The sheriff's department of New Hanover County shall have concurrent jurisdiction and authority with the Wildlife Resources Commission in the enforcement of this act.

Sec. 3.  Anyone found guilty of violating this act shall be punished by a fine not to exceed fifty dollars ($50.00) or imprisonment not to exceed 60 days, or both, in the discretion of the court.

Sec. 4.  This act shall become effective on July 1, 1971.
