AN ACT TO EXTEND THE POLICE JURISDICTION OF THE CITY OF HIGH POINT TO ENCOMPASS THE CORPORATE LIMITS OF THE TOWN OF JAMESTOWN.

 

The General Assembly of North Carolina do enact:

 

Section 1.  The governing bodies of the City of High Point and the Town of Jamestown are hereby authorized and empowered to enter into a contract on such terms and conditions as they may deem proper by which the City of High Point will furnish police protection to the territory within the corporate limits of the Town of Jamestown.

Sec. 2.  Upon execution of such a contract, and the spreading of the same upon the minutes of both governing bodies, the police jurisdiction of the City of High Point shall thereby be extended and enlarged to include all that area within the corporate limits of the Town of Jamestown, and within the corporate limits of the Town of Jamestown all members of the police force of the City of High Point shall have all rights, powers and authority which they have within the corporate limits of the City of High Point and, in addition, shall have full power and authority to enforce the ordinances of the Town of Jamestown.

Sec. 3.  This act shall become effective upon ratification.

In the General Assembly read three times and ratified, this the 28th day of June, 1971.
