HOUSE BILL 898

 

AN ACT TO PROHIBIT THE TAKING OF BEAR IN BEAUFORT, ONSLOW AND WASHINGTON COUNTIES.

 

The General Assembly of North Carolina do enact:

 

Section 1.  In Beaufort, Jones, Onslow and Washington Counties, it shall be unlawful for any person to take, trap, kill or attempt to take, trap or kill bear at any time.

Sec. 2.  Any person violating the provisions of this act shall be guilty of a misdemeanor and shall be fined not in excess of one hundred dollars ($100.00) or imprisoned not in excess of 60 days or both fined and imprisoned.

Sec. 3.  This act shall become effective July 1, 1971, for a period of two years only and expiring on July 1, 1973.

In the General Assembly read three times and ratified, this the 28th day of June, 1971.
