HOUSE BILL 644

AN ACT TO AMEND G.S. 130-13(c) TO CLARIFY TERMS OF OFFICE OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS ON COUNTY BOARDS OF HEALTH.

The General Assembly of North Carolina enacts:

Section 1.  G.S. 130-13(c), as it appears in the 1974 Supplement to Volume 3B of the General Statutes, is hereby amended by adding after the first sentence the following sentences:

"County commissioners' terms of office as members of county boards of health shall be concurrent with their terms of office as county commissioners. When the county commissioner member of the board of health ceases to be a county commissioner for any reason, his appointment as a member of the board of health shall also cease, and the board of county commissioners, during their next meeting, shall appoint another commissioner to the board of health."

Sec. 2.  This act shall become effective upon ratification.
