HOUSE BILL 788

 

AN ACT TO ALLOW THE MAYOR OF THE CITY OF NEW BERN TO VOTE ON ALL MATTERS BEFORE THE BOARD OF ALDERMEN.

 

The General Assembly of North Carolina enacts:

 

Section 1.  The next to the last sentence of Section 6 of Chapter 1281, Session Laws of 1957, being the Charter of the City of New Bern, is rewritten to read:

"The Mayor shall have the right to vote on any question before the board of aldermen, and shall do so as if he were a member of the board."

Sec. 2.  This act is effective upon ratification.
