CHAPTER 30
AN ACT TO REQUIRE THAT PARENTAL CONSENTS TO ADOPTIONS BE DULY SWORN.
The General Assembly of North Carolina enacts:
Section 1. G.S. 48-7(a) is hereby amended by adding a new sentence to the end to read:
"The party consenting to an adoption must sign said consent and acknowledge his signature before any person empowered to take acknowledgements of signatures pursuant to Chapter 47 of the General Statutes of North Carolina."
Sec. 2. This act shall become effective on October 1, 1983.
