CHAPTER 56
AN ACT TO ALLOW THE MECKLENBURG COUNTY BOARD OF EDUCATION TO FILL BY APPOINTMENT A VACANCY CREATED WHEN A MEMBER IS ELECTED TO ANOTHER PUBLIC OFFICE, LOCAL, STATE OR FEDERAL.
The General Assembly of North Carolina enacts:
Section 1. Section 3 of Chapter 881, Session Laws of 1967, is amended by adding immediately after the words "change of legal residence from Mecklenburg County," the words "resignation due to election to another office in this State filled by election of the people or office under the United States filled by election of the people,".
Sec. 2. This act is effective upon ratification and applies to vacancies existing on that date.
