HOUSE BILL 69

 

AN ACT TO REQUIRE THE DIVISION OF AGING TO SUBMIT TO THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY A REGULARLY UPDATED PLAN FOR SERVING OLDER ADULTS.

 

The General Assembly of North Carolina enacts:

 

Section 1.  The Division of Aging, Department of Human Resources shall submit a regularly updated plan to the General Assembly by March 1 of every odd-numbered year.  Beginning March 1, 1991, a summary plan for serving older adults shall be submitted but the full plan only for 1991 shall be submitted to the General Assembly by July 1, 1991.  This plan shall include:

(1)       A detailed analysis of the needs of older adults in North Carolina, based on existing available data, including demographic, geographic, health, social, economical, and other pertinent indicators;

(2)       A clear statement of the goals of the State's long-term public policy on aging;

(3)       An analysis of services currently provided and an analysis of additional services needed; and

(4)       Specific implementation recommendations on expansion and funding of current and additional services and services levels.

No additional appropriations are required by this act.

Sec. 2.  This act is effective upon ratification.
