A BILL TO BE ENTITLED
AN ACT TO AUTHORIZE THE CITY OF GREENSBORO TO EXPEND FUNDS ON ROADS OUTSIDE THE CORPORATE limits.
The General Assembly of North Carolina enacts:
SECTION 1. Chapter 160A of the General Statutes is amended by adding a new section to read:
"§ 160A-296.1. Expenditure of funds for roads outside the corporate limits.
A city may appropriate funds not otherwise limited as to use by law to construct roadways in areas outside its corporate limits and outside its extraterritorial planning and zoning jurisdiction only if those roadways are owned by the State and maintained by the Department of Transportation."
SECTION 2. This act applies to the City of Greensboro only.
SECTION 3. This act is effective when it becomes law.
