SENATE BILL 542

RATIFIED BILL

 

 

AN ACT to allow reasonable access to state facilities and employees for certain employee associations.

 

The General Assembly of North Carolina enacts:

 

SECTION 1.  G.S. 143‑3.3 is amended by adding a new subsection to read:

"(g1)    Reasonable Access to State Facilities and Employees for Certain Employee Associations Allowed. – All State institutions, departments, bureaus, agencies, or commissions, shall permit representatives of a domiciled employees' association that has at least 40,000 members, the majority of whom are current State employees, reasonable access to its facilities and employees for the purposes of membership recruitment, member consultation, and to offer member benefits, including insurance products."

SECTION 1.1.  If House Bill 914, 2005 Regular Session becomes law, then effective July 1, 2007, G.S.143-3.3(g1) as enacted by this act is recodified as G.S. 143B-426.39A(m).

SECTION 2.  This act is effective when it becomes law.
