A BILL TO BE ENTITLED

AN ACT to appropriate funds for the north carolina Arts council.

The General Assembly of North Carolina enacts:

SECTION 1.  There is appropriated from the General Fund to the Department of Cultural Resources the sum of five hundred thousand dollars ($500,000), in recurring funds, for the Grassroots Arts Program of the North Carolina Arts Council, the sum of five hundred thousand dollars ($500,000) in recurring funds for the basic Grants Program of the North Carolina Arts Council, and the sum of one million dollars ($1,000,000) in recurring funds for the cARTwheels program of the North Carolina Arts Council.

SECTION 2.  This act becomes effective July 1, 2008.
