A BILL TO BE ENTITLED

AN ACT to provide that the town of summerfield shall follow the general law for the filling of town council vacancies.

The General Assembly of North Carolina enacts:

SECTION 1.  Section 3.4 of the Charter of the Town of Summerfield, being Chapter 426 of the 1995 Session Laws, reads as rewritten:

"Sec. 3.4. Vacancies. Notwithstanding G.S. 160A‑63, persons appointed by the Town Council to fill vacancies Vacancies on the Council serve the remainder of the unexpired term. shall be filled in accordance with G.S. 160A‑63."

SECTION 2.  This act is effective when it becomes law.
