A BILL TO BE ENTITLED

AN ACT to appropriate funds to the matthews and mint hill departments for gang violence and crime prevention efforts.

The General Assembly of North Carolina enacts:

SECTION 1.  There is appropriated from the General Fund to the Town of Matthews the sum of one hundred thousand dollars ($100,000) for the 2007‑2008 fiscal year to support the Town's Police Department in its effort to prevent gang violence and other crimes.

SECTION 2.  There is appropriated from the General Fund to the Town of Mint Hill the sum of one hundred thousand dollars ($100,000) for the 2007‑2008 fiscal year to support the Town's Police Department in its effort to prevent gang violence and other crimes.

SECTION 3.  This act becomes effective July 1, 2007.
