A BILL TO BE ENTITLED

AN ACT TO APPROPRIATE FUNDS TO THE BOARD OF GOVERNORS OF THE UNIVERSITY OF NORTH CAROLINA FOR THE STATEWIDE PROGRAM FOR INFECTION CONTROL AND EPIDEMIOLOGY.

The General Assembly of North Carolina enacts:

SECTION 1.  There is appropriated from the General Fund to the Board of Governors of The University of North Carolina the sum of four hundred fifty thousand dollars ($450,000) for the 2008‑2009 fiscal year.  These funds shall be allocated to the School of Medicine at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill for support of the Statewide Program for Infection Control and Epidemiology.  It is the intent of the General Assembly that these funds become part of the continuation budget.

SECTION 2.  This act becomes effective July 1, 2008.
