A BILL TO BE ENTITLED

AN ACT TO CHANGE THE NAME OF THE NORTH CAROLINA EDUCATION LOTTERY TO THE NORTH CAROLINA state LOTTERY.

The General Assembly of North Carolina enacts:

SECTION 1.  Chapter 18C of the General Statutes is amended by adding a new section to read:

"§ 18C-104. Name of Lottery.

The name of the lottery shall be the "North Carolina State Lottery", and all marketing, advertising, and other documents of the lottery shall bear that name. The North Carolina State Lottery Commission may exhaust any documents and printed materials with any other name without discarding them based on the name established by this section, but all new materials, publications, and advertising shall bear the new name."

SECTION 2.  This act becomes effective December 1, 2008.
