A BILL TO BE ENTITLED

AN ACT to appropriate funds to the board of governors of the university of north carolina for research and development initiatives at the center for bioenergy technologies at north carolina state university.

The General Assembly of North Carolina enacts:

SECTION 1.  There is appropriated from the General Fund to the Board of Governors of The University of North Carolina the sum of two million forty‑three thousand five hundred ninety‑four dollars ($2,043,594) in recurring funds and the sum of three million eight hundred thousand dollars ($3,800,000) in nonrecurring funds for the 2008‑2009 fiscal year to be allocated to North Carolina State University for its Center for Bioenergy Technologies.  The funds shall be used to expand initiatives at North Carolina State University for research and development of bioenergy substrates and processes impacting the agricultural and forestry sectors.

SECTION 2.  This act becomes effective July 1, 2008.
