A BILL TO BE ENTITLED
AN ACT to appropriate funds to complete the expansion at the North Carolina museum of art.
The General Assembly of North Carolina enacts:
SECTION 1. There is appropriated from the General Fund to the Department of Cultural Resources the sum of five million one hundred twenty‑six thousand seven hundred dollars ($5,126,700) for the 2008‑2009 fiscal year to supplement the North Carolina Museum of Art expansion. These funds may be used for gallery lighting; security, gift shop, and café upgrades; parking lot improvements; and any other items needed to complete the expansion.
SECTION 2. There is appropriated from the General Fund to the Department of Cultural Resources the sum of five hundred thousand dollars ($500,000) for the 2008‑2009 fiscal year to be used to bridge the gap between declining foundation revenues and increased operating costs related to expansion and renovation at the North Carolina Museum of Art.
SECTION 3. This act becomes effective July 1, 2008.
