A BILL TO BE ENTITLED

AN ACT authorizing Cherokee county to use the design‑build method of construction for a justice center.

The General Assembly of North Carolina enacts:

SECTION 1.  Notwithstanding G.S. 143‑128, 143‑129, 143‑132, 143‑64.31, and 143‑64.32, Cherokee County may use the design‑build method of construction for a Justice Center to be located in Murphy, North Carolina.  Notwithstanding any provision of law, Cherokee County may award a contract under this section in its sole discretion.

SECTION 2.  This act is effective when it becomes law.
