Short Title:     Signage/Right-of-Way for Local Public Purpose.		(Public)

A BILL TO BE ENTITLED

AN ACT to allow local government authority to place signage, for a local public purpose, in the right‑of‑way of an Interstate highway or primary state highway.

The General Assembly of North Carolina enacts:

SECTION 1.  G.S. 136‑129 is amended by adding a new subdivision to read:

"(3a) Signage that is approved by a local government, for local government functions or events, that contains no endorsements of private companies other than an acknowledgment of the company or companies the signage was provided by."

SECTION 2.  This act is effective when it becomes law.
