A BILL TO BE ENTITLED

AN ACT to maintain funding for the north carolina education assistance foundation.

The General Assembly of North Carolina enacts:

SECTION 1.  Notwithstanding any other provision of law, funds appropriated to the Department of Justice for the 2009‑2011 fiscal biennium shall be used to maintain funding for the North Carolina Legal Assistance Foundation (NC LEAF) at the same level as that provided during the 2007‑2009 fiscal biennium.

SECTION 2.  This act becomes effective July 1, 2009.
