A BILL TO BE ENTITLED
AN ACT to appropriate funds to the State adult day care fund and to the home and community care block grant to provide a rate increase for adult day services, as recommended by the north carolina study commission on aging.
The General Assembly of North Carolina enacts:
SECTION 1. There is appropriated from the General Fund to the Division of Aging and Adult Services, Department of Health and Human Services, the sum of one million fifty‑nine thousand five hundred sixty‑one dollars ($1,059,561) for the 2009‑2010 fiscal year, and the sum of one million fifty‑nine thousand five hundred sixty‑one dollars ($1,059,561) for the 2010‑2011 fiscal year, to be used to increase the rate paid to adult day care and adult day health care provided to clients. Of these funds, five hundred sixty‑one thousand three hundred fifty‑seven dollars ($561,357) shall be placed in the State Adult Day Care Fund, and four hundred ninety‑eight thousand two hundred four dollars ($498,204) shall be placed in the Home and Community Care Block Grant. The rate for adult day care and adult day health care shall be increased by no less than five dollars ($5.00) per day per client.
SECTION 2. This act becomes effective July 1, 2009.
