A BILL TO BE ENTITLED
AN ACT directing the state board of education to study the length of the school lunch period across the State to determine whether students have adequate time for meals.
The General Assembly of North Carolina enacts:
SECTION 1. The State Board of Education shall study the length of the school lunch period across the State to determine whether students have adequate time for meals. In the course of the study, the Board shall consider the actual amount of time elementary, middle school, and high school students have to select and consume meals and the adequacy of that length of time. The Board shall report the results of the study to the Joint Legislative Education Oversight Committee by October 15, 2009.
SECTION 2. This act is effective when it becomes law.
