A BILL TO BE ENTITLED

AN ACT to appropriate funds to the board of governors of the university of north carolina to assist with operating costs of the heart institute at east carolina university.

The General Assembly of North Carolina enacts:

SECTION 1.  There is appropriated from the General Fund to the Board of Governors of The University of North Carolina the sum of three hundred thousand dollars  ($300,000) for the 2009‑2010 fiscal year and the sum of three hundred thousand dollars ($300,000) for the 2010‑2011 fiscal year to be allocated to East Carolina University to assist with operating costs at East Carolina Heart Institute to help improve preventive and interventional measures for patients who are already symptomatic of cardiovascular disease.

SECTION 2.  This act becomes effective July 1, 2009.
