A BILL TO BE ENTITLED
AN ACT to appropriate funds to continue the ARCHAEOLOGICAL and HISTORICAL research on the queen anne's revenge.
The General Assembly of North Carolina enacts:
SECTION 1. There is appropriated from the General Fund to the Department of Cultural Resources, Division of Archives and History, the sum of two hundred thousand dollars ($200,000) for the 2009‑2010 fiscal year and the sum of two hundred thousand dollars ($200,000) for the 2010‑2011 fiscal year to be used to continue archaeological and historical research on the shipwreck believed to be Blackbeard's flagship, Queen Anne's Revenge. These funds will allow critical matching of federal and private grant funds and bolster efforts to exhibit the shipwreck materials.
SECTION 2. This act becomes effective July 1, 2009.
