A BILL TO BE ENTITLED

AN ACT TO APPROPRIATE FUNDS TO INCREASE THE SALARIES OF FULL‑TIME COMMUNITY COLLEGE FACULTY AND PROFESSIONAL STAFF.

The General Assembly of North Carolina enacts:

SECTION 1.  There is appropriated from the General Fund to the Community Colleges System Office the sum of twenty‑nine million eight hundred thousand dollars ($29,800,000) for the 2009‑2010 fiscal year and the sum of fifty‑nine million six hundred thousand dollars ($59,600,000) for the 2010‑2011 fiscal year to begin increasing the salaries of full‑time community college faculty and community college professional staff to the national average.

SECTION 2.  This act becomes effective July 1, 2009.
