A BILL TO BE ENTITLED

AN ACT to appropriate funds to the department of cultural resources to assist theatres across the state.

The General Assembly of North Carolina enacts:

SECTION 1.  There is appropriated from the General Fund to the Department of Cultural Resources the sum of five hundred thousand dollars ($500,000) for the 2009‑2010 fiscal year. These funds shall be allocated to community theatres across the State based upon criteria determined by the Department. These funds may be used for program development and maintenance.

SECTION 2.  This act becomes effective July 1, 2009.
