HOUSE JOINT RESOLUTION 485

A JOINT RESOLUTION SETTING THE DATE FOR THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES AND THE SENATE TO ELECT MEMBERS TO THE STATE BOARD OF COMMUNITY COLLEGES.

Be it resolved by the House of Representatives, the Senate concurring:

SECTION 1.  Pursuant to G.S. 115D‑2.1(b)(4)f., the House of Representatives and the Senate shall elect members to the State Board of Community Colleges during the regular sessions of the two chambers to be held on Tuesday, April 21, 2009.  At that time the House of Representatives shall elect two members to the State Board for respective terms of six years beginning July 1, 2009.  The Senate also shall elect two members to the State Board for respective terms of six years beginning July 1, 2009.

SECTION 2.  Each chamber shall follow the procedure set out in G.S. 115D‑2.1 for the nomination and election of members of the State Board.

SECTION 3.  This resolution is effective upon ratification.

In the General Assembly read three times and ratified this the 20^th day of April, 2009.
