A BILL TO BE ENTITLED

AN ACT to extend the sunset on the statute authorizing intellectually gifted students under the age of 16 to attend community college.

The General Assembly of North Carolina enacts:

SECTION 1.  Section 4 of S.L. 2001‑312, as rewritten by Section 2 of S.L. 2005‑77, reads as rewritten:

"SECTION 4. Section 2 of this act is effective when it becomes law, and shall apply beginning with the 2001‑2002 academic year. Section 2 of this act expires September 1, 2008.September 1, 2010. The remainder of this act is effective when it becomes law."

SECTION 2.  This act becomes effective August 30, 2008.
